UPCOMING EVENT

SCHOLARSHIP / MENTORING PROGRAMS:

EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN AND HELP

TRANSFORM THE WORLD

Since its inception, the Fund has provided scholarships to allow smart and dedicated students to enroll and graduate from college.  In addition to the financial support, the Fund stays in touch with the students and connects with them in person at least twice a year. The scholars get needed financial assistance and engage with women who understand the importance of giving back and extending a hand to support the next generation, a great life lesson.

The Fund supports the scholarship program of the Montgomery County, Maryland Panhellenic Council and provides educational assistance to high school seniors in the mentoring programs who pursue higher education. The Fund also provides scholarships to Montgomery County  graduates attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Our Impact:

“I thank the PVAC Fund for being like a family to me and checking on my progress with my academics and for their overall support.”  - Leaynet

“The support I’ve received from the PVAC Fund has meant an ability to be educated without any financial stresses, allowing me to fully focus and dedicate myself to my studies.” - Ariel

“The support has meant a great deal and helped me be able to attend school and pursue my dreams.  It’s just nice to know that they so wanted to give me the scholarship.”  - Rachel

The Fund also supports mentoring programs for young girls between the ages of 11 and 17 living in low to moderate income housing in Montgomery County, Maryland.  The group meets monthly and activities include workshops on physical and mental health, financial literacy, study skills as well as social outings.  We also lend support to similar programs for young boys between the ages of 9 and 14 similarly situated and addresses topics on relationships, boundaries and choices, college and career development, and financial wealth and entrepreneurial opportunities.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH:
