SCHOLARSHIP / MENTORING PROGRAMS:
EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN AND HELPING TRANSFORM THE WORLD
The Fund provides scholarships that help bright, gifted and resolute students to enroll and graduate from college. In addition to providing financial support, the Fund Board members follow the scholastic career of scholarship recipients and provide emotional support, encouragement, and additional financial support, as needed. Board members serve as mentors, sharing the importance of education, giving back, and extending a hand to support the next generation. A great life lesson the Fund hopes mentees will adopt.
The “Named Scholarship” initiative, established as a legacy program enabling members of the Fund and the community to honor family members, support scholars at particular colleges, and inspire the next generation of students.
The “Parade of Scholarships” provided monetary awards to undergraduate students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). In addition, the Fund provided financial support that enabled students to pursue graduate degrees.
PARTNERSHIPS
EXTENDING OUR REACH BY WORKING WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
Universities of Shady Grove Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships: through this partnership, a total of two (2) scholarships are available each year to Montgomery County students that attend Bowie State University and/or the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.
